There is something sacred about a bath or shower. In those quiet moments, away from the noise and demands of daily life, we are often given space to think, pray, and simply be.
Flowers have always reminded me of this hidden place of the heart. They bloom according to their design, not striving to become something else, but unfolding into what they were created to be. As I reflect on this, I find myself asking:

Who are we in the garden?
Are we made for the Garden?
Did God create us for a garden?
In the beginning, He placed humanity in a garden—to live, to tend, and to walk with Him. We were given work to do, certainly. Yet I wonder if sometimes we become so focused on tending the garden that we forget to simply dwell within it.
How many of us live as though we are only meant for the work of the garden—doing, serving, producing, and tending—while our hearts remain hidden?
The garden requires action. Fruit must be cultivated. Yet growth itself comes through Divine assistance. God gives the increase.
So perhaps the deeper question is not simply about what we do in the garden, but who we are while we are there.

The Hidden Life
Who are you in the quiet garden?
The small, private garden of prayer.
The garden of serenity.
The garden where there is no audience and no performance.
I believe the answer is found in what Scripture calls the life hidden in Christ.
My life, hidden in Christ.
Your life, hidden in Christ.
What does this mean?
I can only share a recent experience.
During prayer, the Holy Spirit revealed something surprising to me: that my deepest fear was neglecting others.
As this came to light, I sensed Jesus saying simply to trust Him with what I needed to do.
When situations arose where I felt afraid of neglecting someone, I began relying on Him for the answer and for the timing. He assured me that He would not neglect the people I cared about.
Something changed.
Instead of being driven by fear and overextending myself, I found a healthier balance. Relationships became more peaceful. I could see love flowing from both sides rather than carrying more than I needed to myself.
Most importantly, I found more space to focus on what God was asking of me personally—to bloom according to His plan.
Discovering Ourselves in Christ
Who are we in the garden?
I feel as though I am still discovering myself in Christ.
Scripture tells us that we are created for good works that God prepared in advance for us to do. Yet only He truly knows what those good works are. As we walk with Him, He gently reveals them in His timing.
Perhaps becoming who we are meant to be is less about striving and more about abiding.
Less about proving and more about trusting.
Less about performing and more about allowing Him to reveal the person He created us to be.

Made for Love
Who are we in the garden?
I don’t know about you, but I am ready to discover more in His time.
I would love to see the real you in Him as well—to see His beautiful garden flourishing.
We were made for Him.
Made for love.
How does His love manifest through you?
I have found that the unfolding often happens in the seeking and the asking—not only through what we ask of Him, but through what He asks of us.
A Prayer in the Garden
If you would like to pray together, I am praying with you as well.
Oh Dear Lord,
How the world can sometimes make it hard for our soft hearts to glow in the light of Your garden. Please protect us, protect the seeds that You plant in us, water them, nurture them, so that their fruit – our truest lives in You will blossom and bloom.
We don’t know who needs who we really are in You. Help us to bloom in Your unique design for each of us, not only for ourselves to be in the fullness of You, but for the garden that is the world.
A beautiful flower is greatly recognized in broken concrete, so even a touch of love is profound. But the more You fully bloom all of us, how great the oasis for all who need rest and hope.
Help us to hope in You and be fully bloomed as we listen to You deepest in our hearts.
Amen.
